More tea, anyone?

Historically significant as the first Republican President in ten years to complete whole sentences in English, President Obama’s extension of tax cuts for the richest Americans in a time of stupid war and calamitous recession illustrates the President’s commitment to the Republican position on social justice, which is: “You’re poor? Ew, that’s gross, go die.”

Just venting of course. I would vote for Moderate Republican Obama over Insane Tea Party McPalin any day. I expect to be disappointed by any president, that is The Way Of Things, but this particular insult to all that is fair and right, and the outstanding Grinch / Scrooge timing of it, is acutely disheartening because it seems so unnecessary.

The Dem’s filibuster-proof majority is over. They squandered it, and the window is closed. The richest of the rich have been rewarded handsomely for their boundless greed and epic financial crimes, by the guy I voted for, and the party that was supposed to represent those other than the very, very rich.

House Representative Barbara Lee said it well:

“This was not a fair deal. I’m deeply concerned about who’s going to pay for this. We’re talking about a $900 billion, almost a $1 trillion hit on our Federal Treasury and the deficit. You know who’s going to pay. It’s going to be low-income communities, the poor, the working poor, communities of color.”

Correct.

Merry Christmas.
